Self Contained

THE farm

From your accommodation peer out onto the lush green pastures of Icena Farm, set against the backdrop of Mount Willaim National Park to the east and Mount Cameron to the southwest. Icena Farm is a functioning sheep and cattle farm with plenty of animals to see!

travel around

Situated in the wildlife heartland of Tasmania's northeast tip, Icena Farm is at the doorstep of Mt William National Park and the Bay of Fires walk. Only just under 2 hours drive from Launceston and an hour drive from St Helens, Icena Accommodation is a convenient addition to any Tassie holiday.

Walk

Walk along the stunning unique coastlines of Northeast Tasmania. Explore the white sand beaches between Musselroe Bay and Ansons Bay on the East Coast, or wander along the rugged North Coast around Cape Portland and Waterhouse.

ride

Located just 30 minutes drive from Derby, take a trip to explore the Blue Derby mountain bike trail network. Drive an extra 30 minutes and arrive at St Helens, home to another 60kms of world class trail. If you don't have a bike don't worry, theres an array of local bike shops in Derby and St Helens with bike hire options aplently.

hike

Hike to the top of nearby Mt Cameron. This hike gains 500m of elevation over 8.7kms, takes your through stunning gum forests and boulder fields then spits you out at top of the mountain, providing breathtaking views of North East Tasmania. The hike can take roughly 3hrs (there and back) or can be split into two days, as there is a campsite near the top.

Surf

Explore the pristine white sandy beaches around Edystone Point, Musselroe Bay and Ansons Bay. The beach breaks around here are fickle, but if you're lucky you may just find yourself scoring aqua marine A-frames all to yourself!

The best time of year for consistent swell on the north east coast is Feb-May.

“ Brilliant time. Fantastic facilities. Beautiful farm outlook. We felt so lucky being so close to one of the best walking areas in Tasmania. Came home feeling so relaxed! What really finished the experience for us was the communal area. Just loved it! Lots of happy memories “

Debbie from Sydney (Park Trek Guest)
